Day 20 –The Flow of Thoughts
Today reminded me of something simple but important:
my thoughts have their own currents.
Some days they move like a gentle stream—soft, clear, effortless.
Other days, they twist and swirl like a river after rain, carrying emotions I haven’t fully named yet.
Today felt like the second kind. My mind was busy, full of little ripples and waves that kept pulling my attention in different directions.
Instead of fighting the noise, I decided to sit with it.
I closed my eyes and imagined a quiet stream of water flowing in front of me.
Just water—steady, uncomplicated, honest.
The water wasn’t trying to stop the movement.
It wasn’t trying to force stillness.
It was simply flowing.
And that image taught me something:
I don’t need to control every thought.
I just need to let it pass through.
When I allowed my thoughts to move—without grabbing them or pushing them away—they began to settle on their own. Some drifted out of my mind like leaves floating down a river. Others stayed, but in a quieter form, gentler, more truthful.
The flow did the work for me.
Water has always shown us this:
movement can be medicine.
When we let water flow, it cleanses itself.
When we let thoughts flow, they cleanse us too.
So today’s lesson became clear:
💧 Let what wants to move… move.
💧 Let what wants to leave… leave.
💧 Let what needs to stay… reveal itself in its own time.
There is a kind of clarity that cannot be forced.
It only arrives when we make space—
So today, I’m grateful for the reminder that my mind doesn’t need to be perfectly still to be peaceful.
It simply needs room to flow.
